The secret is out. Panerai have released the first-ever Panerai Radiomir Bronzo - the PAM00760. Rumoured to be exclusively sold to VIP clients at private events, this is likely to become one of the most sought-after Panerai models in modern production, completely overshadowing the demand of the Panerai Submersible Bronzo Blu Abisso PAM01074.
The Panerai Bronzo PAM01074 was revealed this time last year, in a limited run of 1000 pieces per year. One year on, it has been a big hit in the watch community, with Boutiques having large waiting lists and barely scratching the surface with getting through them. It has a striking blue dial and is in a smaller 42mm case, perhaps too small for many “Paneristi” (the Panerai enthusiast community).
If you thought the PAM01074 was a success in terms of demand and popularity, this bronze Radiomir it is a very impressive idea in terms of introducing a model that will be iconic and completely unexpected!
The Radiomir Bronzo PAM760 has a 47mm diameter, a 3-days handwound calibre and is mounted on a vintage 26mm calf strap. Three big ticks so far for the Panerai “Purists”. In new condition, the brushed bronze case is truly stunning. Once it’s been on your wrist for a while, the bronze will oxidise and your own patina will form on the case, based on the environmental conditions and nature of wear.
And just take a look at that dial! Under the domed Plexiglas is a textured green sandwich dial, vibrant at the centre and then graduating to a darker hue. It looks stunning with the bronze case and faux patina luminescence. To top it off, the hands are coloured blue, resembling the vintage ref. 3646 watches - an iconic & historical Panerai design.
The PAM760 is powered by the robust and reliable P.3000, which can be viewed through the exhibition caseback. It has a power reserve of 72 hours beating at a frequency of 21600hz, has 21 jewels and uses two spring barrels connected in series.
This Radiomir comes accompanied in its pearwood presentation box with a slightly different layout; the spare plexiglas is displayed next to the cushion. As with all Panerai watches from 2019, the 760 has an extended Panerai warranty of 8 years.
How do you get one? The PAM00760 is limited to 300 pieces. It is unlikely that this model will be a standard-production Panerai based on the historical importance this model will carry. I anticipate that this model will become one of the most sought-after modern Panerai watches of 2022 and beyond.
