For Sale is an excellent example of the Panerai Luminor Marina PVD Pre-Vendôme, reference 5218-203a.
Introduced in 1993 and manufactured in 1994, this model was amongst the first of the Panerai watches made available to the public in its inaugural year of commercialisation. With 200 units of this reference produced, it's a model rarely seen in the watch market, and this particular example even rarer as it comes complete with its original box & papers.
Regarding its provenance, this model is from Hammer's collection (Alan Bloore) who is a very well-known and prominent member of the Paneristi community. This set comes with a plaque and Paneristi.com wooden block.
With a 44mm PVD steel case, this model features a black dial with milled and filled markers with a Tritium compound, with the hands treated with the same material. This particular dial is considered to have "fat indices", a rare characteristic that increases the desirability of the model.
It's powered by the ETA 6497, a manual-wind movement with small seconds, with a power reserve of 46 hours.
Complete with original box & papers, swing tag, screwdriver and three OEM straps and PVD buckles, this model is in excellent condition considering its age, with light signs of wear to the PVD case. It has been carefully preserved and the dial is in excellent, original condition. A video condition review is available upon request and is recommended to view prior to purchasing. This model comes with a full 12 month warranty.
